Raised against purified human IgA, this affinity purified polyclonal goat antibody targets human immunoglobulin A with high specificity. Cross-reactivity to other isotypes including IgG and IgM is minimal. Tested in ELISA and Western blot.

Immunoglobulin A (IgA) is the predominant antibody isotype found in mucosal secretions, including saliva, tears, breast milk, and gastrointestinal fluid, where it plays a key role in mucosal immunity. It is also present in serum, primarily as a monomer. IgA exists in two subclasses, IgA1 and IgA2, with differing distributions across mucosal sites. Measurement of IgA is clinically relevant in the diagnosis of IgA nephropathy, coeliac disease, IgA deficiency, and various autoimmune conditions. Anti-human IgA antibodies are valuable tools in immunoassay development for the detection and quantification of IgA in both serum and secretory samples.
