Product Information

Elastase, part of the serine protease superfamily, is a 30kDa protein expressed in neutrophil granules with a 267 amino acid residue. It undergoes posttranslational modification at both termini during processing of the enzyme. Reported to be present as a marker in IBD, it has also been implicated in congenital and cyclic neutropenia. Elastase reportedly could be used as a biomarker for the progression of cancer, specifically in colorectal cancer.

Clinical Indications

Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis
Crohn’s disease
Ulcerative Colitis
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Elastase is implicated in congenital and cyclic neutropenia
